The matchmaking event, a key highlight of the GEORIS EIT Raw Materials project, brought together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to foster collaboration and drive advancements in the geopolymer sector. The day commenced with a warm welcome and insightful opening remarks, providing an overview of the event’s objectives and a concise introduction to the GEORIS project results, as well as to the by – products that derived from the utilisation of the geopolymerization technolgy. This was followed by a captivating keynote presentation by Prof. L. Kriskove from KUL, who shared valuable insights on the production of fire resistant panels and pavement blocks.
Following the keynote, the event showcased a series of engaging technology pitches from innovative companies. Metlen a prominent player in the bauxite, presented their unique and innovative solutions, captivating the audience with their creative approach to bauxite applications.
KEBE, a leading SME, presented a diverse range of innovative building solutions. Their expertise encompasses the development of advanced building techniques utilizing Structural Ceramic Products, coupled with the integration of innovative Polymer materials such as PUFJ (PolyUrethane Flexible Joints) and FRPU (Fiber Reinforced PolyUrethane) for reinforced concrete frames. Furthermore, KEBE showcased their commitment to sustainability by developing eco-friendly “green” roof tiles. These innovative tiles feature a special coating that enhances energy efficiency through photoreflective and photocatalytic properties, contributing to the concept of “cool roofs.” Beyond their innovative building solutions, KEBE is actively engaged in research and development to optimize production equipment within the “Factory of the Future.” They are integrating advanced technologies such as conventional sensors, machine vision, and predictive failure models to enhance risk management and significantly increase the lifespan of their production equipment.
